Grade 310 stainless steel is an austenitic stainless steel with excellent high temperature properties, as well as good ductility and weldability. Type 310 stainless steel pipes are commonly used in high-temperature applications. The 310 grade steel pipes' high chromium and nickel content provides excellent corrosion and oxidation resistance, as well as superior strength at temperatures up to 2100°F. It is also superior to 304 or 309 stainless pipes due to its higher chromium and nickel content.

Properties:

High Temperature: Austenitic stainless steel with excellent oxidation resistance at high temperatures. Good for continuous exposure to 2100°F and intermittent service to 1900°F.

Corrosion Resistance: Excellent aqueous corrosion resistance due to high chromium content; excellent resistance to oxidizing and carburizing environments.

Excellent corrosion resistance at normal temperatures.


Heat Resistance: Excellent oxidation resistance in intermittent service up to 1040°C and continuous service up to 1150°C.

Thermal fatigue and cyclic heating resistance is excellent.

Sulphur-dioxide gas is widely used in areas with high temperatures.

Because of carbide precipitation, continuous use in the 425-860°C temperature range can deteriorate aqueous corrosion resistance.

Typically used in applications with temperatures ranging from 800 to 900°C.


Fabrication: Typically used in high temperature and corrosive environments in heat treatment and process industries.

It is simple to roller-form, stamp, and draw.

After severe forming operations, Grade 310 pipes harden. As a result, it should be followed by annealing.


Weldability: Generally weldable using standard processes.Weldability is comparable to 304 and 304L.
